Cotton and organic cotton are the preferred fabrics which are cool and easy to handle. They absorb the body sweat and allow the skin to breathe. Summer sarees are generally light weight. Sometimes chiffon, crepe and georgette are also used. Printed sarees are preferable in the hot weather. They can be used for casual, daily and office wear.
Monsoons are unpredictable and can ruin good sarees. When the wet season comes in women prefer fabrics that have fast colors. Bad color ruins everything on a perfect day and the garment is not wearable again. Working women choose to wear printed sarees that will not get affected by the rains.
